Starting a new business is exciting and challenging. There are a lot of things that you need to do. Even more that you have to do. And plenty that you really should do. here are 10 tips for anyone starting a new business.

1. Get to know your customer.

If you understand your customer, what they want and what they are really looking for then you can set up your marketing to effectively target them

2. Focus some Negatives

Make a list of everything that could go wrong and stop you achieving your business goals.Identify every risk you can think of and then find solutions to those problems, either ways to prevent them or ways to deal with them if they happen.

3. Research your market

Spend plenty of time understanding your market.(the law of suppy and demand) Find out what people are buying, how much they are paying for it. What is being done well and what is not. Find out what your competition are doing.

4. Work out your start up costs.

How much is it going to cost you to set your business up? Make a list of everything that you will need to get your business started and how much it will cost.

5. Work out your running costs.

What is it going to cost you to run your business. Do you have premises to pay rent or other costs on? Staff costs, marketing costs, IT running costs and anything else that you need to consider

6. Define what your business is and what it sells.

Once you have defined what you are and what you sell then work out what gap or pain point in the market you and your products address. Use this in all of your marketing.

7. Get advice and support

Too many people believe that they should be able to do and know everything. Never be afraid to ask for advice and support. Look at all of the things that you need to do and figure out which ones you will need help with. Then plan how you will get that help when the time comes.

8. Plan for small failures.

You won't get everything right. No matter how good you are, no matter the quality of the advice. Try to plan your activities so that, if something doesn't work, you find out quickly and without wasting too much money. Once each small failure is out of the way you can concentrate on the big successes

9. Stick with it.

Starting a business does take a lot of effort and energy. Keep working on your plan and your successes will make it all worthwhile.

10. Do something you love

You will get more, and have a much greater chance of success, if you make your business out of doing something that you love.
